CityStudio Summer 2022 Course Winners

Written by CityStudio RA Samantha Cheung

This past summer, CityStudio collaborated with two courses for the summer term, CMNS 295 and BMKT 370, to create projects for the MONOVA and The North Vancouver RCMP.

We are extremely happy to announce the results of the Summer 2022 Course Winners.

CMNS 295 Winners
Students Tiana Lachnit, Victoria Normand, Kelsey Honeyman and Kenia Gutierrez Portillo, designed a social media strategy for MONOVA to help attract a GenZ audience. Pictured below is the group presenting their final project in front of their class at the Lonsdale campus.

In addition to presenting a social media strategy, the class had been invited by MONOVA to be contributing writers for its online blog “The Inlet.” Topics include women’s rights, the Ismaili community, award-winning athletes and Truth and Reconciliation in the Indigenous community. Most of the class’s work will be posted in the coming months. Support this class by clicking the button below to read their amazing work.

BMKT 370 Winners

The BMKT 370 project aimed to create a strategy and creative model to launch an Instagram account for The City of North Vancouver RCMP. Pictured below is the winning group.

The winners from both of these classes have been invited to this Fall’s HUBBUB that is happening at the end of the year. We would like to thank the students for their consistent efforts this summer. Finally, it wouldn’t have been possible without our partners: the North Vancouver RCMP and MONOVA, for allowing students to create projects to help them achieve their academic and career goals. Keep up the amazing effort, and we hope to see you in the Fall.

HUBBUB continuously gives students, instructors, city staff, and other stakeholders an opportunity to:

  • Hear about current opportunities and challenges identified by our municipal partners.
  • Learn about the students’ process and project outcomes.
  • Witness the unique ways in which CityStudio North Vancouver has adapted to a remote learning environment.
  • Make connections with real people (in real time!)

We hope to see you at HUBBUB #7, and please stay tuned to our website and social media channels to stay updated on all things CityStudio North Vancouver!
